How much does it cost?
Early bird entry fee for the 2020 Bondi2Berry ride is $120 (plus transaction fees). Register by Sunday 31 March.
Standard entry fee is $140 (plus transaction fees). Register by Friday 31 May.
Late entry fee is $160 (plus transaction fees). Registrations will close Friday 16 August, if not sold out earlier. Preferred jersey sizes may not be available for late registrations.
What do I get as a rider?
All riders will receive an exclusive 2020 event jersey (sizing chart available here), on course nutrition throughout the ride and spare parts (if needed). There will be hydration, bars, gels, bananas and savoury items provided at the pit stop locations at Stanwell Tops, Wollongong, Kiama and a BBQ at the finish line in Berry.
Mechanics will be roaming on course following the groups to provide assistance as required.
You will also receive an invitation to attend the Bondi2Berry launch night (collection of the jerseys and event pack with great products). There will also be a post ride dinner at the Great Southern Hotel in Berry on Saturday evening.
Please note that only road bikes are able to be utilised (no TT / triathlon or mountain bikes).
Which group should I ride in?
There will be six riding groups, each departing from Bondi at 6:15am and total distance of the ride will be 155km (approximate elevation of 1,700m).
Group 1 will be riding with an average pace of 30-35km / hour and group 2 and group 3 riding at average of around 25-30km / hour. Groups 4 and 5 at an average of approximately 20-25km / hour and group 6 at approximate pace of 20km / hour.
Please note that the ride is an open road event, adhering to normal road rules. Each group will be riding 2 abreast as a pack, and will remain together as a riding group for the duration of the ride.
Training rides will be organised and all registered riders will need to join us for at least three training rides. The training rides allow riders to meet fellow participants and get you used to riding as a pack on parts of the official Bondi2Berry route.
Check out 2016 Bondi2Berry Route. The 2020 ride will be very similar with a small loop through Berry Main Street before finishing at the Berry Bowling Club. Note, it may be possible for some groups to take the bypass as opposed to via Gerringong and Gerroa.
The ride’s objective is to raise over $200,000 for Dementia Australia, to go towards researching a cure for dementia.
All riders will need to fundraise a minimum of $500, and set up an individual fundraising page via Grassrootz. Fundraising incentives are provided to every rider, including a chocolate box starter pack (valued at $50), and free bib shorts if your fundraise $1,000 by Friday 26 June.
Cycling Australia Membership
Please note, to participate in the Bondi2Berry ride, you must have a valid Cycling Australia Membership. You will need your license number for your registration. If you do not have a current CA Membership, a day license will provided for you as part of your registration (note, an additional $20 will be charged).
