This year, we hosted the very first Bondi2Berry Gala Dinner at Darling Harbour in Sydney. The night was a massive success, with a delicious three-course dinner, guest speakers, celebrity entertainment and a prized auction. But most importantly, we raised just over $65,000 for Dementia Research.
Hosted by Fox Sports News presenter, Alissa Smith, and SBS Tour de France anchor, Mike Tomalaris, we were proud to welcome a panel discussion with some of Australia’s most famous faces and dementia advocates:
Craig Alexander – 5x World Champion Triathlete
Andrew Reid – Bondi Rescue Lifeguard
Michael Lipman – International Rugby Union Player
Dr Rowena Mobbs – Expert in cognitive neurology
We also got to hear about the beautiful journey of Jason Van Genderen and his mum (Oma) who suffered from Dementia. Jason will be releasing the film of his personal story, Everybody’s Oma, later this year.
