All riders will receive an exclusive 2019 event jersey (sizing chart available here), on course nutrition throughout the ride and spare parts (if needed). There will be hydration, bars, gels, bananas and savoury items provided at the pit stop locations at Stanwell Tops, Wollongong, Kiama and a BBQ at the finish line in Berry.
Mechanics will be roaming on course following the groups to provide assistance as required.
You will also receive an invitation to attend the Bondi2Berry launch night (collection of the jerseys and event pack with great products). There will also be a post ride dinner at the Great Southern Hotel in Berry on Saturday evening.
Please note that only road bikes are able to be utilised (no TT / triathlon or mountain bikes).
Which group should I ride in?
There will be five riding groups.
All groups will be departing from Bondi at 6:15am and total distance of the ride will be 155km (approximate elevation of 1,700m). Group 1 will be riding with an average pace of 30-35km / hour and group 2 riding at average of around 25-30km / hour. Groups 3, 4 and 5 will be an average of approximately 20-25km / hour.
Please note that the ride is an open road event, adhering to normal road rules. Each group will be riding 2 abreast as a pack, and will remain together as a riding group for the duration of the ride.
Training rides will be organised and all registered riders will need to join us for at least two training rides. The training rides allow riders to meet fellow participants and get you used to riding as a pack on parts of the official Bondi2Berry route.
Check out 2016 Bondi2Berry Ride to Remember Route. The 2018 Ride to Remember will be very similar with a small loop through Berry Main Street before finishing at the Berry Bowling Club. Note, it may be possible for some groups to take the bypass as opposed to via Gerringong and Gerroa.
The ride’s objective is to raise over $200,000 for Dementia Australia, to go towards researching a cure for dementia.
All riders will need to set up an individual fundraising page via Grassrootz and we ask that you contribute by raising a minimum of $500 to go towards the target.
Fundraising incentives are provided to every rider, including a chocolate box starter pack (valued at $50), and major incentives to riders who raise $750 and $1,000.
